#TRIALS2023 | Kishane Thompson surprises in men’s 100m, Yohan Blake disqualified

Kishane Thompson surprised the ongoing National Senior and Junior Championships (Trials) at the National Stadium by producing a massive personal best in heat one of the men’s 100 metres tonight.
Thompson stopped the clock at 9.91 seconds to finish ahead of Ackeem Blake with 10.00 and Ryiem Forde, who also produced a personal effort 10.01, to book their semi-finals spots. Thompson’s time was the fastest in the qualifiers.
Oblique Seville also booked his spot in the semi-finals by clocking 10.00 seconds in heat two to finish ahead of Ramone Barnswell, who sped to a personal best time of 10.13 and Tyquendo Tracey with 10.22.
Heat three winner Kadrian Goldson clocked a personal best time of 9.94 seconds ahead of Rohan Watson, who also did a personal best of 9.98, and Julian Forte in 10.10.
In the final heat, Nigel Ellis was the fastest with a 10.07 seconds clocking. Michael Campbell was second with 10.10 seconds, and former Kingston College standout Bouwahjgie Nkrumie third in 10.21.
Defending champion and multiple national winner, Yohan Blake was disqualified after a false start in the final heat.
