Perfect start for Campion in ISSA urban netball

Campion College’s senior netballers remained perfect in Zone D of the ISSA urban schoolgirls netball competition after a big 27-1 win over Holy Trinity High on Thursday.

The vastly improved Campion team were picking up their second win in a row as in their first match of the season they had a resounding 37-15 win over Tarrant High.

In three matches played in Zone E, Norman Manley High had the biggest margin of victory on the day after putting away Waterford High 32-3. In the other matches, Wolmer’s High School for Girls overcame The Queen’s School 29-22, while Bridegport easily got the better of Kingston Technical 27-8.

In another senior game St Jago High opened their account on a winning note after overwhelming St Andrew Technical (STATHS) 39-7 at STATHS.

In rural action on the same day, Black River High had the biggest win among senior teams after blanking Aberdeen High 43-0 in a Zone C encounter. In two other Zone C matches, Maggotty High defeated Newell High 36-8 while Hampton School got the better of St Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) 13-10.

In Zone B action, Manning’s stopped Frome 24-17, in Zone H Tacky High beat York Castle High 37-22, while in Zone I Morant Bay turned back St. Thomas Technical 30-12.

In junior action, Denbigh High, competing in Zone F, had an impressive 59-2 win over Foga Road High for the biggest margin of victory on the day.

In Zone B Manning’s blanked Frome Technical 20-0 win while STETHS got by Hampton 20-19 in a close affair.

In Zone A Brown’s Town stopped St Mary Technical 21-5; Newell turned back Maggoty 11-9 in Zone C; Dinthill Technical won 20-8 over Enid Bennett in Zone G while in a low scoring affair in Zone H York Castle defeated Tacky 4-3.
