Registrar of the Supreme Court Rosemarie Harris has declined to say if she has set a date for the motion filed by West Kingston strongman Christopher 'Dudus' Coke who is seeking an order to stop the extradition proceedings against him.

A hearing is to take place in the Judicial Review Court.

Coke, 41, is wanted by the United States government to face charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and marijuana and illegal trafficking of firearms.

He has not yet been arrested by the police.

On Tuesday, a resident magis-trate signed the warrant for his arrest to face extradition proceedings in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

Coke is seeking a stay of the proceedings in the Resident Magistrate's Court until his motion has been heard and determined.

In the motion filed in the Supreme Court on Wednesday by attorney-at-law Don Foote, Coke is seeking an order to quash the minister of justice's decision to sign the authority to proceed with the extradition proceedings.

He is also seeking an order to bar the minister from carrying her decision into effect.

Coke is also seeking orders to prevent the minister of justice and the director of public prosecutions from proceeding with the extradition request from the United States.

The minister of justice, the director of public prosecutions and the attorney general are the three defendants named in the motion.
