Tivoli deserved it

The Editor, Sir:

The people in Tivoli Gardens got what was coming to them, and they saw it coming a long time ago. I listen to the radio talk shows and daily there are people bemoaning that they have no food, and are treated like second class citizens because they live in the garrison. These are the same people who, a few days ago, said they were willing to die for Dudus. I say you got what you asked for. You were warned to leave.

They complain about police brutality. The police were under siege by the thugs in Tivoli. I heard gunfire being targeted at the police, not stones being thrown at them. They have every right to defend themselves.

Tivoli prevailed for so long because its citizens allowed it to prosper. They fed it. They loved it. Thank God the police and military under the command of their supervisors decided it was time to put an end to it. I hope they noticed that while they were dying for Dudus, he ran away and left them (so much for comparing him to God) like the coward that he really is.

To the security forces, thank you! This operation was well-needed. I hope all is done to ensure that no community is ever again allowed to become a state within this country. It is now time to move onto Montego Bay, Spanish Town, Jungle, Rhema, etc. and release the country from the bondage of these goons.

I am, etc.,

DAC.
