A time for everything

The Editor, Sir:

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die; .... a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace." Let these be the prophetic words for Jamaica.

What happened in Jamaica did not start yesterday, but has long been coming. The stench has reached the nostrils of God and His anger is poured out to correct our faults and failures. The cries of innocent blood from beyond the graves will never go unanswered. Jamaicans here and abroad need to get back to the altar and re-discover their first love, Jesus Christ.

Politics has divided the country and I would challenge the citizens of Jamaica, especially those living in the garrisons to take note that politicians do not live in those areas, but in upscale, gated communities.

Jamaica now needs redemption and I wish that all churches across the nation would pray for our island that God's grace and mercy will endure.

I am, etc.,
