Wasting on ads
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I COMPLETELY respect the right of the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) to make a reasonable return to its shareholders. However, it is operating in an economy in which every single sector has been asked to hold strain in the interest of development. The question has to be asked: Doesn't JPS believe it's part of the Jamaican economy and, if so, why is it placing this additional burden on the backs of ordinary Jamaicans and on Jamaican businesses at this time?
I would like to suggest to the JPS that the hundreds of thousands of dollars it is currently spending on full-page advertisements to tell us that our electricity cost is less than that of countries we rarely compete with is a complete waste.
JPS, focus your efforts on those who continue to steal electricity.
I am, etc.,
Courtney Hamilton
