Jamaicans are often generally thought of as stubbornly supportive of Brazilian football. However, teams like Germany and Argentina have always had a solid fan base. Gleaner Intern Patrina Pink went on the streets of downtown Kingston to ask persons which team they felt would taste victory on July 11.

Brazil is the best side in the competition. They are going to win because they have talent and tactics. Plus, they have the big man, Robinho.

Tanesha Simpson, 28

Brazil, that's my side. I believe in and can trust that team. Plus, they have some good players like Robinho and Kaka and a lot of other good ballers. No side can beat Brazil. Win or lose, Brazil all the way!

I think Germany will win the World Cup. That's been my team over the years. I've always supported them and they've always come up big. Anytime you have these big occasions, they always do well, so I've just stuck with them over the years, I've never changed. Germany mi seh!

Dainty McKenzie, 14

I choose Brazil because I like them and they can play. Some nice footballers are on their side and them look good.

Verona Lewis, 58

Argentina. They have been one of my favourite teams from way back. I've been following them for several years now and I just love the players. They have the ability.

That's three out of five votes in favour of Brazil. However, football wouldn't be called the beautiful game if was predictable. Only time will tell. Keep updated with the Gleaner Online for World Cup updates or follow us on www.twitter.com/gleanerworldcup.
