The man in the mirror

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I READ and heard the venomous views and attacks coming out of the mouths of some Jamaicans, including the human-rights leaders, and some pastors, that the prime minister and other persons should resign. This attitude lacks love and reflects a deviation from our motto - Out of many, one people.

I also wonder if those persons really have God in their hearts; they failed to acknowledge the consequence of their action, and the pain and suffering of those persons and their families if they lose their jobs.

I must remind these pastors, in particular, that Jesus said in Matthew 18: 21-22 that you must forgive your brother 70 times seven if he trespasses. If you are a Christian pastor, you are failing to obey Christ's words. I remind you that all of us are listening to two voices - Satan's and God's - and we must be able to differentiate God's voice, which leads to life everlasting, from Satan's voice which leads to destruction.

I am, etc.,
