Flow anger soccer fan

THE EDITOR, Sir:

As an avid football lover, I recently bought into a cable subscription from Flow so as to be able to watch and comfortably enjoy all the matches of the World Cup in clear signals and receive first-class match analysis.

I must, however, say I am disappointed and disgusted at the way and manner Flow has been violating the terms of our engagement all in the name of respecting the exclusive rights of CVM television as the sole broadcaster of the World Cup matches in Jamaica.

While I understand the need for all broadcasters of the World Cup matches to respect the inalienable rights of CVM television in this regard, I would like the management of Flow cable television service to answer the following questions.

CVM television is available free of charge to the public, and if one of the major reasons I subscribed to Flow is for the purpose of watching the World Cup, is it then fair for me to be charged at the end of the month for a channel I could have watched free of charge?

Can Flow honestly compare the quality of video, and especially audio signals from CVM, to that which would have been available on other top-quality channels and kindly tell me which is better? Someone like me would have loved to watch these matches in HD, but since CVM does not broadcast in HD, isn't this an infringement on my own right to watch these matches in HD at those moments when, after all, I will get charged for it at the end of the month?

If Flow maintains that it is bound to comply with the 'rule of law' and thereby force us to watch CVM by interrupting signals on other channels during World Cup matches, should we also be robbed of the rich half-time analysis on these channels?

FLOW, over to you please ...

I am, etc:
