Stop the violence, please
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I am a 13-year old male student of the Old Harbour High school who resides in the environs of Spanish Town and has experienced violent situations. I am writing this letter to voice my opinion on this whole Christopher 'Dudus' Coke issue. It has got out of hand, causing chaos in Kingston, Spanish Town and surrounding areas.
I understand that the security forces were trying their best to capture Christopher Coke. This operation has affected schools, business areas and churches. It has also affected Jamaica's children in so many ways, causing many not to attend school. Some were even trapped inside their homes.
Negatively impacted
I would like to congratulate the security forces for bringing back some normality to Tivoli Gardens and its environs, and I would like to send best wishes to the family of the security personnel who lost their lives in the operation. I hope the security forces capture Christopher Coke.
All of these happenings in west Kingston recently has had a negative impact on me. I would like all this violence to stop because I would like to grow up in a peaceful country. I also have great concern for my 11-year-old brother; all of this happenings have also had a negative impact on him. My greatest concern is about the guns; I just wish that all the guns get destroyed.
I am, etc.,
