Recently, there was a big announcement that the ban on water restrictions had been lifted. Someone seems to have omitted Sundown Crescent (off Molynes Road) in this 'no water lock-off' bonanza.
Since then, we have had no water in the pipes for several days. When the water did appear, it was a mere trickle in the pipes. A call to your customer service centre revealed that there are challenges with the system at Ferry, hence the reason you have no water. This, after I waited on the phone for over 20 minutes for the lady to return from querying the reason for us not having any water, and having to call back because the call was disconnected.
Is it too much to ask that we be told the real situation concerning the lack of water in this area? Is it that we are secretly being subjected to lock-offs again but no one wants to to tell us? We know the drill - all we need to do is keep the containers full.

- Jamaica needs God
In the past, when we thought of death, it was attributed to age and illness. Today, it has taken another form: crime and violence. We no longer have regard for the babe or the elderly. The most recent issue is that of the civil unrest in the country.
The question is: which direction are we heading and what will our fate be? It is clear that we need to start searching our hearts.
I share an instance when 10 years ago I was divinely struck down. Here I found myself calling on the name of Jesus and repeating the words 'what Jamaica needs now is God'. Since this event, a lot has transpired personally and nationally.
Jamaica really needs God. Subsequently, I would say love is the answer to the pending doom. Let's have a heart!

- JPS legal extortionist
There is no doubt that the people of Jamaica are under deep pressure and economic strain. While other countries seem to be on the path of recovery, Jamaica is on the reverse.
To add salt to this injury is the blatant way in which the Jamaica Public Service continues to extort the people of this country with the approval of the Office of Utilities Regulations (OUR) and the endorsement of the Government, as its collects more from them at our expense.
There is something fundamentally wrong with the new meters that have been installed around the country. Customers are seeing up to a 250 per cent increase in their bills. Nothing extra is being done and nothing new applied.
Effective today there is an increase, even though the minister declared it was not so, but we should see a decrease. Well, the OUR's announcement has proven otherwise.
