Enough is enough!
The Editor, Sir:
The People's National Party (PNP) seems to have moved from being an Opposition to an admonition. They use every opportunity at their disposal to criticise the Government for what they deem it is doing wrong while, at the same time, not offering any realistic and rational solutions to replace the current government plan, policies or programmes they are criticising.
The only issue I can recall the Opposition being pleased with the Government about is the establishing of an office for the opposition leader. They criticised Justice Minister Dorothy Lightbourne for not signing the extradition warrant yet, after she finally signed it, they cried foul, and instead of moving ahead with the business of the country, will waste time in the Senate on Friday with the no-confidence motion that they have put forward against her.
After Christopher 'Dudus' Coke was captured by the police, the PNP did not laud this action, instead, they called for the resignation of the Rev Al Miller, without whose decisive action Dudus would probably still be on the run.
The Opposition needs to stop reminding us about all the issues that transpired over the nine-month period following the extradition request for Dudus and, instead, focus on doing what is in the best interest of Jamaica. Enough is enough!
I am, etc.,
