NEGRIL, Westmoreland:

The Negril and Morgan's Bridge police in Westmoreland were kept busy between Sunday night and Monday morning, as gunmen went on a robbery and shooting spree that left four persons dead and a fifth victim wounded.

The first incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. in Red Ground, Negril, when three men armed with guns and machetes walked into a shop, where 20-year-old Dwayne Taylor was among the patrons.

Reports are that the gunmen shot Taylor, a construction worker from St Ann, and an elderly man, before stealing an undetermined number of phonecards.

The thugs reportedly then went next door to a mini-mart, where they robbed the owner of $45,000 in cash and $80,000 worth of phonecards. Several customers were also relieved of cash and cellular phones.

Later, at 2 a.m., a judge's orderly from Hanover was found dead near his white Toyota Corolla motor car off the Peggy Barry main road in Grange Hill, Westmoreland

The orderly, who has been identified as 20-year-old Ashwayne Samuels, reportedly had three gunshot wounds to the head.
