8-y-o drowns

Eight-year-old Kevin Limoth of Little Bay, Westmoreland, drowned after he apparently got into difficulty while swimming at sea near his community Saturday afternoon.

Police reports are that around mid-afternoon, he was scolded for swimming at the beach. After he was sent away, people were alerted to his return when his kite and clothing were found on a rock in the vicinity of the beach.

A search was launched and the boy's body taken from the water and brought back to shore. He was later taken to a funeral home in Savanna-la-Mar.
