Cops smash car-stealing operation
The Organised Crime Investigation Division along with the Manchester Street Crimes Unit yesterday smashed a major car-stealing ring in Porus, Manchester.
Reports from the Constabulary Communication Network indicate that shortly after 10 a.m., a police team carried out an operation in the Clarks Town area of Porus, where 17 F150 motor trucks were discovered.
Some of the vehicles were being scrapped, the release stated.
According to the CCN, a nearby house was also searched during the operation. Several rooms were found stocked with motor vehicle parts and accessories.
Officers are theorising that these parts were taken from the scrapped F150 motor trucks.
Four people, including a woman, were taken into custody in connection with the find. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
