Dr Vendryes writes new book
Dr Anthony Vendryes, the prolific Gleaner health columnist and nutrition expert, is out with another book of health tips and guidelines, especially for women.
The book is called An Ounce of Prevention, Especially for Women and expands on the themes explored in his previous hit volume, An Ounce of Prevention: New and Natural Ways to Prevent Common Health Problems.
The nutrition tips and advice the doctor dishes out in his new book are geared toward women and provide natural cures and treatments for common health problems.
Easy to understand
The way in which Dr Vendryes presents the information in An Ounce of Prevention, Especially for Women makes it easy to understand, and digest. He simply lists an ailment, such as yeast infection, details the symptoms of it, then tells you how to treat it, in natural ways, using different kinds of food. It's perhaps among the most easy-to-follow health books on the market today and works particularly well for locals, since the writer, himself, is Jamaican.
Dr Vendryes talks about the benefits and value of nuts, green tea, drinking lots of water, fish oils and dark-coloured berries, among other things.
The author was a hospital-based specialist in anaesthesia and intensive care for more than 20 years. He has become a national advocate for a holistic approach to health and has, over time, developed a loyal following.
An Ounce of Prevention, Especially for Women is available at bookstores islandwide.
