No parking for cops

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has issued a final warning that it will take action against its members who continue to park in front of the Jamaica Police Cooperative Credit Union (JPCCU) building.

The JCF noted that persons continue to violate the 'No Parking' signs in front of the JPCCU, situated on King Street, Kingston, despite several warnings outlined in the Force Order.

The Force Order was made available to the press on Friday as the JCF makes good on its commitment to become more transparent in its operations.

"With effect from November 1, 2010, there will be strict enforcement of the road-traffic laws within this area. Members who are in violation will be prosecuted and disciplinary actions taken against them. In addition, where service vehicles are involved, the member's driving status will be revoked," the recently published Force Order read.

The JCF said the JPCCU has secured parking arrangement at 2 King Street, and to avoid prosecution, commanding officers should brief their members accordingly.
