THE NATIONAL Water Commission (NWC) announced yesterday that E.G. Hunter will be leaving the utility company at the end of his present contract in December, after an 11-year presidency.
Hunter, an engineer by initial training, has worked in various areas in the water sector for nearly four decades, most of which were spent in various capacities at the NWC.
The decision was taken after discussion with the board.
"We wish Mr Hunter all the best in his future endeavours," said Russell Hadeed, board chairman. "The board must now focus on the immediate challenges facing the commission as we look forward to meeting the immediate and long-term needs of Jamaicans."
