Scotia chairman resigns in Trinidad

Chairman of Scotiabank Jamaica, Robert Pitfield, has given up his board positions in the global banking group's Trinidad operations.

Pitfield, who oversees Canada's international banking segment from his offices in Toronto, has led the Jamaican board since 2003.

Scotiabank did not acknowledge or respond to requests for comment on whether his Jamaican role was unchanged.

Pitfield gave up his seat on the boards of Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Limited and Scotiatrust and Merchant Bank Trinidad and Tobago Limited on November 24,a stock market notice said,but gave no reason for the resignation.

Brian Porter replaced him as chairman of the two companies.
