The grounds of St Catherine Preparatory School were recently covered in lavender, white and blue. The occasion was the pretend-wedding ceremony of two students of the institution.

So true-to-life was the atmosphere at the event that the groom, Chad Phillips, shed tears of joy while being cheered on by his peers and all who came to witness the special ceremony.

His mother, Andrea Phillips could not hide her pride as her six-year-old son said "I do".

Many persons told The Sunday Gleaner that the day was very special in the life of the 52 year-old school.

"Is really this happen? Mi son get married while he is in school. This is a great feeling!" joked Garfield Phillips.

The beautiful flower girls and other wedding participants had visitors smiling.

"This is in keeping with the theme in the prescribed curriculum to teach the children values on a good social home situation," said Althea Mullings-Hall, a teacher at the school.

The wedding party included Ramone Stone, Riux Thompson, Andrew Smith Jnr, Zoe Harris and Kayleigh Williams.
