On Sunday, November 28 Jencare Skin Farm officially opened its new state-of-the-art day spa at the Miramar Town Centre, 11607 Red Road, Miramar, South Florida.

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett was guest speaker and in his address he congratulated Lloyd and Jennifer Samuda for their foresight and entrepreneurial ability, and encouraged the Jamaicans in the South Florida diaspora to support this major business venture.

Dr Blossom O'Meally-Nelson declared the spa open with the symbolic ribbon cutting, jointly with Bartlett.

In her address to the guests, Mrs Samuda said the new spa, which is more than 43,000 square feet, consisted of executive and ambassador suites providing a full range of skin-care services. It will have as its chief executive officer her daughter, Peta-Gaye Samuda.

Other officials at the function were Ed Barnes, assistant commissioner of Miramar; Wayne Powell, executive vice-president, branch banking, at Scotiabank Jamaica, who doubled as master of ceremonies; the Reverend Dr Webster Edwards, who blessed the new facility; John Allen, a director of Jencare; and a wide cross section of Jamaicans from Canada, New York, Jamaica and South Florida.
