LIME takes on new marketing talent

Grace Silvera has taken up a new job with LIME as its regional vice-president marketing and corporate communications, after concluding her secondment at the state-run cultural agency and parting from beer company Red Stripe Jamaica.

LIME also announced the appointment of Dianne Bissoon, a native of Trinidad & Tobago with 12 years experience in the telecommunications industry, as vice-president of television and entertainment services.

The two hires are meant to strengthen LIME's marketing team, and come on the heel of Errol Miller's revised portfolio as vice-president government & corporate affairs, and chair of the LIME Foundation.

Silvera assumes Miller's old job, and will work out of the Jamaican office in Kingston.

She had been tipped at one point to join the communications company several years ago, but never followed through with the shift.

The two new appointments take effect immediately.

Silvera, whose most recent role was that of executive director for the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission, has over 25 years of expertise in international marketing, communications, and public relations, 15 of which were with Red Stripe.

After wrapping up the one-year secondment last November, Red Stripe announced that Silvera would not be rejoining the beer company.

Bissoon joins LIME from WestStarTV in Cayman Islands where she was responsible for securing programming contracts.

She is a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University, holds an MBA in marketing, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in international business.

"The depth of experience that Dianne possesses in this specialised area will be of tremendous value to LIME as we rev up the entertainment aspect of our business," said Chris Dehring, chief marketing officer of LIME Caribbean and chairman of LIME Jamaica, in a company statement.

up the title of group CEO to Don Wehby in July, but will remain as
executive chairman up to his retirement in December 2012.
