AP: Revellers swept joyously into the streets across the Middle East on Friday after Hosni Mubarak stepped down as Egypt's president. Mubarak finally gave in to the demands of hundreds of thousands of protesters who had taken to the streets of Cairo since late January demanding that he vacate the post he has held for three decades.
From Beirut to Gaza, tens of thousands handed out candy, set off fireworks, and unleashed celebratory gunfire, and the governments of Jordan, Iraq and Sudan sent their blessings.
