O'Gilvie pleads guilty to illegal gun possession
Kiefa O'Gilvie, the son of a close confidant and business partner of former west Kingston strongman Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, yesterday pleaded guilty in the Gun Court to a charge of illegal possession of a firearm.
The 24-year-old O'Gilvie, whose father Justin was a constant in many of the businesses operated by Dudus, was taken into custody last December.
At that time, it was reported that O'Gilvie was riding a motorcycle in downtown Kingston when he was signalled to stop by members of a police team.
He reportedly disobeyed and rode off.
The police gave chase and he was held along Blake Road, near South Camp Road. He was searched and found with a Taurus pistol and 26 rounds of ammunition.
He is to be sentenced on Friday, March 4.
O'Gilvie is also slated to return to court to answer charges of assaulting a policeman and using abusive language and threat.
Those charges came out of an incident when he and Tesha Miller, the reputed head of the Clansman gang, allegedly assaulted a policeman while they were in custody at the Kingston Central Police Station.
