HATFIELD, Manchester: NOTHING COULD hold back the tears which flowed freely at the Hatfield Primary and Junior High School in Manchester yesterday.

Teachers and students mourned the loss of six-year-old Joshua Hill, who was allegedly shot and killed by his seven-year-old cousin Thursday evening.

Reports from the Mandeville police are that about 3:15 p.m., Joshua and two other young children were playing at home.

It is reported that while playing, one of them moved a bucket that was in the back of the yard and found a gun. They reportedly started playing with the weapon, after which loud explosions were heard.

It was later discovered that Joshua had been shot. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

With teary eyes and folded arms, Hill's former teacher, Ruby Peart, told The Gleaner: "I really miss Joshua. He was one of my favourite students because he tried so hard to be a good student.
