A head-on collision along the Spring Hill main road in Trelawny yesterday claimed the lives of four persons, including a 14-year-old student.

Four others, including a four-year-old boy, were listed as being in serious to critical condition after being transferred from Falmouth Hospital to Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay, St James.

Reports are that a maroon-coloured Toyota Corolla motor car, driven by Dennis Lindsay of a St James address, was travelling east towards Discovery Bay on the way to Dover Raceway. Lindsay tried to overtake a line of vehicles travelling in the same direction and collided with an oncoming white Toyota motor car driven by 42-year-old Elijah Williams of Duncans, Trelawny.

Lindsay was killed on the spot, while two other persons travelling with him were pronounced dead on arrival at Falmouth Hospital. They are Brigette Grant, 32, and Richard Hamilton, of Montego Bay addresses.

Fourteen-year-old Tahj Williams, who was a passenger in the white Toyota driven by his father, died on arrival at Falmouth Hospital. Both his four-year-old brother Tynique Williams and his father, who were transfered to Cornwall Regional Hospital, were listed in serious condition.

Narrisa Hall, 24, and Johntay Williams of Rose Heights addresses in St James, who were travelling with Lindsay, were reported to be in critical condition at Cornwall Regional Hospital.
