Acting principal Nadean Coley, who prepared the boys for the exam, was very happy with the result .
"I did expect some of my boys to do exceptionally well, and they have not sold us short. Overall, the students have done fairly well. The grades are looking good," said a proud Coley.
Still happy
At Polly Ground Primary in Ewarton, although 11-year-old Trobrahn Scott was not placed at the school of his first choice, he was still happy.
"I will be going to Jamaica College. I wanted to go to St Jago but I'm still happy," said Scott.
His classmate, 12-year-old Javon Hemmings was placed at Calabar, but he wanted to attend Jamaica College.
Barrington Thompson, the boys' grade-six teacher, said while he had a mixed reaction to the results, he was proud of their performance.
"Overall, they did fairly well. We are very proud of them, we just want to move from strength to strength," Thompson told The Gleaner.
Both Jericho and Polly Ground have adopted a gender-centric approach to teaching.
