Do you feel that the 10-year prison sentence handed down to reggae singer Mark Myrie, popularly known as Buju Banton, is justified?
Mark 'Ralph' Kirkpatrick, Montego Bay-based party promoter:
I didn't think he got a fair trial in the first place. Ten years away from your family is a long time but I know he's going to come back bigger and better.
Andre 'PNut' Brown, Island Entertainment Brands programmes and promotions manager:
Sympathy goes out to his family, friends and fan base. However, the circumstances surrounding his case are a very serious matter for an international icon as himself. As a Jamaican and a fan of Buju, putting him away for so long is, by far, a setback for the forward movement of Jamaican artistes and their images on the international scene. But with good behaviour, lots of prayers and support from us, he will be out on the road soon.
Richard 'Bread Back' Bramwell, sound engineer/producer:
The music fraternity is saddened but it is already done. He will just have to survive the 10 years and get out. His life and his career are not over.
Horace Daley, Out Deh Entertainment:
I think he could have gotten a bit less, even though a prison term was expected. Maybe he could have been given five or six years.
