A tropical wave west of Jamaica will continue to influence weather conditions over the island for the next few days, causing cloudy skies and periods of showers and thunderstorms, according to the Meteorological Service.

Yesterday, most parishes were affected by thunderstorms, however, there were no reports of any severe effects, according to the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM).

A small-craft warning remained in effect for inshore and offshore areas of the south and north coasts due to strong winds and rough seas in the vicinity of thunderstorms.

This weather should continue into today with periods of showers expected until Thursday.

The Met office and the ODPEM said they would continue to monitor the system.
