JN promotes Barclay
Carlton Barclay has been promoted to deputy general manager of Jamaica National Building Society, taking up a position that has sat vacant for some time, the mortgage company said Thursday.
Barclay was formerly the assistant general manager with responsibility for finance, administration, and planning, and his new responsibilities as right-hand man to general manager Earl Jarrett will leverage that experience as overseer of the management and financial performance of the 19 companies and three overseas representative offices that make up the JN Group. He will also sit on their boards.
Barclay, a chartered accountant, took up his new office on July 1. His promotion, said JN, is recognition of his value.
"Carlton Barclay is an outstanding financial manager," Jarrett said in a company statement. "We have seen the results of the initiatives he has led to improve the JN Group's performance, and we anticipate an intensification of that thrust within the subsidiaries he will now lead."
Barclay has worked with JN since 1993, starting out as finance manager.
