Jamaican artist Howard Moo Young is well known for his photography skills. He's the man responsible for the now famous photograph of reggae legend Bob Marley standing between and holding the hands of then prime minister, Michael Manley and Edward Seaga at the 1978 One Love Peace Concert in Kingston.

He's won many awards for that photograph and others. These days, though, Moo Young is returning to a passion he had from he was a child - drawing.

"I realised I could draw well from I was about seven years old. It's something I've always loved to do," he said.

As much as he enjoys drawing, Moo Young has spent most of his career focusing primarily on photography. Now, he is taking the pencil up once more.

"It's such a calming thing. I find it really very relaxing. It takes a lot of time but it gives me a lot of pleasure," he said.

Since last Christmas, Moo Young has been spending time at home working on some new pieces, and now he is ready to put them on show. He is planning a special exhibition next year to coincide with Jamaica's 50th anniversary of Independence. "You'll hear more about that later," he said.

Moo Young has also started doing pencil portraits. He works with photographs when doing these, and his work is quickly becoming the talk of the town. Check out these samples.
