Panmedia launches business events app
Pushing innovation in mobile, social media and web development, Panmedia last week launched its business events mobile app for BlackBerry that puts real-time resources on people's smartphones.
The app pulls all the content from businesseventsja.com.jm, a Panmedia Network website which is updated daily, the company said in a release. "The app displays only critical information in a concise format and users can submit their own events to the app listing that are included after verification," it added.
The business events app is compatible with all BlackBerry devices with OS5 and above, and uses a small install footprint and minimal network resources. It can be downloaded from BlackBerry App World at Panmedia website at www.panmedia.com.jm or from www.businesseventsja.com.jm.
BlackBerry App World lists more than 50,000 apps from 13,000 vendors that are available in 148 markets, the release said, adding that the site averaged more than 146 million downloads per month.
"Mobile devices are quickly becoming the dominant computing platform and are extremely beneficial interactive tools that can keep business people on point with the latest business events and resources," said Panmedia's lead developer, Vivian Gordon. "We are investing in the technologies that drive this channel because everybody has one in their pocket," said Panmedia CEO Knolly Moses. "Mobile is perhaps the fastest growing marketing tool for creating customer loyalty, increasing product awareness and boosting sales," he added.
Panmedia develops mobile applications across all platforms. The digital agency's core competencies include JAVA and WebWorks development for BlackBerry applications.
Using its experience in custom applications, web and games design, Panmedia's mobile apps service is based on the concept of full life-cycle software development where customers get the entire spectrum of services from analysis to implementation and support.
Last September, Panmedia launched the Billy Craig Severe Weather Mobile App that graphically displays weather systems in the Atlantic and Caribbean, updates weather information as new data becomes available and displays current conditions and forecasts for major towns in Jamaica. Panmedia is also in negotiations with some of Jamaica's major brands to provide mobile applications that deliver a branded experience to their customers.
