For Whitney Houston

You came with a voice among the very best

In music you inspired an undying zest

You made the extraordinary look extremely simple

Your success was inevitable

your gift was formidable

You effortlessly entered the heart of mankind

With your heavenly art; a stimulus to the mind

You took us to another realm in music

Something no other artist dares to mimic

You were in a class of your own you were great

Such talent was uncanny and magically innate!

And since your music had so much power

We listened and listened in awe and wonder

As you taught us about the greatest love of all

Seeing you rise and not knowing you would fall

Into your dilemma, demise and untimely death

And to the world's melancholy, in your last breath

You left us ina moment in time

With broken hearts seeking to find

A place to go and be entertained

But immortal and indelible you are, Whitney

So your impact will remain

For now and into the future; even eternity

Indeed, the world will always love you

Addiction

Addiction is a terrible and dreadful master

He lured you by your weakness

He then captured and took you

you became his slave

He fed you with torture and torment

He took away your sight and rendered you powerless

He turned you into a faithful servant

He clothed you with bitterness and anger

He took complete control

Addiction is resolute and is hard to escape

But, if you are determined and adamant

You can truly break free from addiction

Thank you, Whitney

Her voice captivated the globe

Her songs resonate in the hearts of many

She taught us the greatest love of all

She was hard pressed on every side, but not crushed

Struck down but not destroyed

Thank you, Whitney for helping us to find our own strength

You will be greatly missed

When darkness turns to light

Innocence beyond comparison

Infallible tales told through timid socialisation

Attire: a lady of royal descension

Speech: words worthy of a standing ovation

Consistent friends

From the very beginning

Embedded secrets

Leakage forbidden

Kaleidoscopic personality

Fairytale reality

Undercover tyrant

Enough is enough!

The inevitable journey is too slow

Uncovering the truth

An end to the bluff

Details fans deserve to know

Shattered mirror of perfection

Ultimate confrontation

Transparent cataract

Visible chameleon

Disciples' betrayal, scattered friends

Maternal gullibility no longer scorned

Confirmation has changed her perception

Tethering the fox with a shorter leash

Banished to a world of scrutiny

When a reader reads a story book

The previous page is never forgotten

New personality

Death of a crook

Possible resurrection

Anything can happen

Somewhere in time

He turned and looked at her face

In his heart he knew what he had done

The love they once had, now stood out of place

If he could he would have crossed the river of time to get it back

She was the gravity that kept him grounded in this world

He refused to accept the fact that this had come to an end

The coldness was erect in her actions and thoughts

She was his sun never to rise again

There was still love there

He could see it in her eyes

And though he wished that was enough

He was haunted by the fact that it was he who made her cry

She was no longer the girl he fell in love with

He grieved to know that the world could do so much harm

Her heart questioned him though she never said a word

Where were you when I needed your arms?

He had lost her to the world

And in his thoughts it was so unfair

There was nothing he could say

But only to wonder why life would create a love that cannot be shared

He watched her walk away

Just as the day he broke her heart

Yet he believed that somewhere in time

He would heal those broken parts

I'll find a way, he thought to himself

As she turned and said a part of you will always be mine

He knew the love they had would never die

And he would find it again; somewhere in time
