The Jamaica Pegasus is bringing something extra to the concept of the city that doesn't sleep through its weekly Tuesday on the Grill.

Not a typical day for an evening out, but the Jamaica Pegasus has created a winning combo to appeal to those wanting to enjoy delicious food and good entertainment soaked in a cool and relaxing atmosphere by the poolside.

The weekly event which is being staged for almost two years now, has undergone some recent changes to enhance its offerings. And according to sales director at the hotel, Prudence Simpson, the layout and menu changes are the main highlights.

"We have more dessert options now at our dessert stands. We have an extensive salad bar, so we also cater to vegetarians who can come in and have a full meal."

Executive Chef Mark Cole notes that the changes still reflect local flair. "We try to do Jamaican food with a twist. We also stay away from MSG and nuts. If we do use nuts, it is properly highlighted."

An 18-year veteran in the industry, he told Food that the reception has been great.

This view was also shared by Simpson, who also noted that the evening is a favourite for corporate employees.

"We have a good crowd coming in and we have many corporate guests coming as well. We host them in large groups and smaller ones like when they take out a client."

Tuesday on the Grill starts from 7 and goes up to 10:30 p.m. Each week there is also live entertainment showcasing local talent.
