Women in love triangle case get October court date

WESTERN BUREAU:A woman whose babyfather cut her on her neck after she attacked his girlfriend will return to court on October 23 as the complainant in her case failed to turn up.
Nickiesha Lawrence of Norwood in St James is charged with assault at common law perpetrated against Sashanna Murray.
Lawrence was previously the complainant in an unlawful wounding case against Clinton Haughton, who cut her on the neck with a knife during a fight on May 5.
Charles Sinclair, Haughton's lawyer, had previously argued that Lawrence attacked Haughton after she assaulted Murray, who was said to be another girlfriend of Haughton's.
When Lawrence's matter was called up in court on Tuesday, the prosecution asked Resident Magistrate Sandria Wong-Small for more time to contact Murray, as she was absent from the court proceedings.
RM Wong-Small subsequently set the case for mention on October 23.
