Indulge in some chicken tikka masala, from Pushpa Indian Restaurant, for this year's Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week.
The masala is a combination of pieces of marinated grilled chicken cooked in a thick curry made from various Indian spices. It is a sure to open up your culinary experience without venturing too far out of the box.
According to owner Pushpalatha Sriramaya, Jamaicans love the taste of rich Indian spices that are in the dish.
"They come in and order it the most, because they say they love the taste," explained Sriramaya.
A main course, the curry will be served with basmati plain rice and garlic or butter naan.
The authentic Indian restaurant started out nine years ago, mainly as a takeout eatery with limited dining. Two years ago, it expanded by including an intimate dining area, where you can enjoy not only the intimacy of your dinning companion but, most important, the smell and taste of authentic Indian food.
