Good Shepherd Samtani
Each year, Kishin Samtani and his wonderful wife, Shobhu, open their home to supporters of the Good Shepherd Foundation
Recently, the two kept their annual ritual hosting a cocktail party with the aim of raising funds for the foundation, which manages the Hope Hospice, the Hope Teaching Clinic and several other activities to support the less fortunate in the community.
The group is building a new clinic on the grounds of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Montego Bay and need US$3.2 million to complete the project.
"Last week, we received pledges amounting to J$850,000 from guests at the cocktail reception," says Petra Williamson, board member of the Good Shepherd.
The founder, Archbishop Charles Dufour, was presented with a cheque from the Friends of Good Shepherd Montego Bay.
