WESTERN BUREAU:

As the telecommunications landscape becomes even more competitive, mobile giant Digicel took over the Blue Beat lounge in Montego Bay Wednesday night.

Commercial Director Jason Corrigan and his crew are in the west strengthening connections with some of their valued clients, including the media, and what better way to kick-start this effort, than a corporate mixer at the Hip Strip lounge?

The target audience was big wigs involved in the business-processing and outsourcing market. Wednesday's event was followed by a breakfast-and-technology forum at the Secrets Resorts and Spa.

Members of the Business Processing Industry Association of Jamaica were hosted to presentations from Ative Ennis, head of enterprise solutions, and Joe McCusker, head of managed services, both from Digicel Business, who spoke on the cutting-edge technologies and customised solutions the company can offer to help them stay viable and competitive.

"Our aim is to increase efficiency in their businesses and, ultimately, increase their bottom line. In other words, we are telling them to leave the technicalities to us and focus on their core business of providing world-class customer service to their clients," explained Jacqueline Burrell, Digicel's public relations manager.
