What of CARICOM?

1 Some people are wondering what was the sense of establishing CARICOM passports when the regional body seems to be faltering so badly, with no real road map for the future. Some are even predicting that like the attempted Federation, CARICOM will soon dissipate. So what will become of these passports if that happens?

Where's the English?

2 Colleagues who have been congratulating the elevation of their member are whispering behind his back that he needs to take an urgent course in public speaking for many recognise that he has had a hostile relationship with the English language, and that doesn't augur well for such a lofty position.

Land grab

3 It is being described as the biggest land grab in this here century. Contracts are reportedly being settled, but when the purchasers are revealed, it is likely to be another scandal of the sort we have got used to having in our lovely island.

Same bed, different times

4 Everyone in the department has noticed the frostiness between the two gentlemen. Many of them do not know that the animosity springs from a long time ago when both men used to place their shoes under the same bed - at different times, of course. Eventually, only one pair remained. It is understandable that there would be some bile between them.
