A brilliant Jamaican author who thought she was moving back to Jamaica from the UK to die has, in fact, found life more abundant in Old Harbour from where she has just penned her third novel, Return to Fidelity. Claudette Beckford-Brady is a writer of extraordinary ability who has now mastered the art of zooming her literary lens across the panorama of Jamaican life. But two decades ago, when doctors in the UK gave up on her because of her sickle cell condition, she thought the end was near and she moved back to the island, hoping to find final peace and better weather conditions.

Upon her arrival on the island, the script changed dramatically. Her health improved, and instead of sweet repose, she found an exhilarating new career in writing,

Her first two novels, Sweet Home, Jamaica and The Missing Years won her widespread critical acclaim, and her new jaw-dropper Return to Fidelity is no less gripping as she journeys through a perilous highway of inevitable and sometimes shocking changes that form part of a hot, steamy rural Jamaican romance.
