Au revoir to JN stalwart Keith Senior

On Wednesday, Jamaica National Fund Managers (JNFM) said au revoir to St Jago old boy and financial whiz - their former general manager, Keith Senior.

From clients to government heads showed up to bid him au revoir at the Pavillion at the Terra Nova All Suite Hotel on Waterloo Road. Having served JNFM for 13 years he has been in the industry for over 40 years.

It was evident that Senior had made his mark on the institution and will be missed. According to general manager of Jamaica National, Earl Jarrett, "He was personal advisor to everyone." He noted that Senior had a willingness to help those around him and was referred to as the encyclopaedia of finance in Jamaica. The general rule was, 'just ask Keith'.

According to Chairman of JNFM Dr Dhiru Tanna, thanks to Senior, he never had one sleepless night.

DRIVING FORCE

All men agreed that he was the driving force that took JNFM from nothing to over $35 billion in assets and $378 million in profits.

Having worked with Senior, the newly appointed general manager Brando Hayden saluted him for the solid foundation he had laid for him to build on.

Senior told Today he would miss his clients most. But for Senior, retirement is only on paper as he does not plan to stop working.

"You never really retire, you have to keep your mind active. The day you retire your mind dies."

And so, in true Senior style, he will still be sharing his expertise with Jamaica National, helping them to develop new credit products for their clients.

As the night wore on, everyone had to shake the hand of the man who has done so much with their individual investment and the company.
