Magna Rewards celebrated its 10-year anniversary in style at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel on Wednesday.

The cocktail-and-dinner event was a celebration of not only Magna's success, but the support of partners who have supported it over the years.

The anniversary was like a second wedding, in celebration of triumph, with the entrance aisle draped with white fabric, giving a fairlytale feeling, finished with elegant blue lighting.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards. In true Magna style, it rewarded 24 founding partners - a collection of large and small businesses.

The list included Best Care Pharmacy, New Variety Drug Store, Jamaica International Insurance Company, Hawkeye Electronic Security Limited and The Bank of Nova Scotia.

There were also five sectional awards - The Top Partner award, presented Scotiabank, Most Consistent New Partner, MegaMart Wholesale Club, Most Consistent Partner Overall, Hi-Lo Foods Stores, Most Innovative Partners Joong Supermarket and Wholesale and, last but not least, "May I have your Magna card please?" the Lee's Group.

great investment

The sentiments of partners, across the board, were the same, Magna was an investment they never regretted.

"I was like a doubting Thomas when I was approached by Magna," recalled Scotiabank's Wayne Powell.

"However, this was the greatest thing to happen to Scotia for many, many years." Powell noted that Magna has delivered on all its promises and upheld the reputation and standard as it said it would have.

The guest speaker was Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce Anthony Hylton.

The night ended with a gracious thank you and the celebration of its 10-year anniversary with Magna's official anniversary being tomorrow, Saturday, October 19.
