Jamaicans are becoming more sophisticated when it comes to food and even more so when it comes to social media, especially where Instagram, Vine and Snapchat are concerned.

On a daily basis we can see pics of mouth-watering meals being flaunted via these medium, so it's safe to say we are as innovative as the country next door.

For this brunch series, we thought about a way of fusing innovation with food. Smart Eggs has teamed up with the Gleaner Company, in association with Café Blue and Select Brands, to host a brunch series over the next few months, to show readers how easy and fun it is to throw a brunch of their own with family and friends.

We will showcase the special egg recipe for the dish of the day, so its readers can recreate these dishes at their own brunch. It's as easy as 1,2,3.

We are on to our second brunch, but here's how it works. Select (Foodie) individuals are being asked to host the sponsored brunch at their home, with no more than 12 persons, then take us on a culinary journey from the kitchen to the table.

In our second series, Fromage owner Lisa Chin was asked to entertain a few of the Rock's most fab women, who are all big on social media.

Mixing food with fashion, what a novelty idea. The ladies sipped on mimosas and Veuve du Vernay Sparkling Wine, courtesy of Select Brands.

At the Brunch

The 12 specially invited women all abided by the Sunday-chic dress code and came appropriately dressed for an easy-breezy affair in the Fromage Gourmet Market's courtyard area.

As the morning got later, tongues started to unwind and discussions were lively and engaging, ranging from a number of topics - social-media moments, local affair, fashion and then some.

Power Scramble Recipe:

2 smart eggs

1 tablespoon milk

1/4 of a green sweet pepper chopped

1/4 of a red sweet pepper chopped

1/2 Caribbean Passion chorizo sausage chopped

1 tablespoon mozzarella cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

Method

Whisk eggs and milk in a small bowl and set aside. Heat frying pan with olive oil, on medium-low heat, then add chorizo red and green peppers and sauté for two minutes, then add the egg mixture to pan. Let it sit for about 30 seconds before mixing it all together. Gently fold mixture in pan for another minute, depending on how soft you like your eggs. Add your mozzarella and plate your scramble. Add salt and pepper to taste.

The Power Scramble was the dish of the day.
