Roger Haylett of Old Harbour, St Catherine, continues to touch the lives of many through his artistic work on bicycles.  Haylett, who resides in rural St Catherine, said he developed the love of making and adding his own creative touches to bicycles after seeing a female on one he thought was ugly.

"I was in Old Harbour when I saw this lady riding a bicycle. Although it looked quite expensive, it looked equally ugly, so I decided to do something about it," Haylett said, as he bent a piece of metal in preparation for another work of art.

Art expositions

He told Arts & Education that he has entered several art expositions, and persons find the bicycles he fashions quite interesting, and that encourages him to continue.

He showed a number of styles at the workshop in Old Harbour.

Among the types were the pimp ride, the ace of spade, the lady ride, the pinky, and the double pleasure, which carries a dual seat.

A number of persons told Arts & Education that they are proud that one so talented lives among them, and agreed that the business has great potential.
