Game of Thrones premiere
Everyone got a chance to sit on the throne last Sunday night when Flow and HBO partnered to host a fan experience and viewing party for the premiere of Season Four of HBO's Game of Thrones. It was the first time an international cable channel has partnered with a local distributor to stage such an event in Jamaica.
More than 200 Flow customers and diehard fans of the series converged at the Courtleigh Auditorium, greeted by hostesses dressed in medieval garb and a red carpet leading to a throne for their personalised photo op. That was just a small part of the Game of Thrones fan experience that the communications company had lined up before the premiere showing of 'Two Swords', the first episode of the new season.
The multi-sensory experience transported guests into the medieval ages depicted in the epic television series that takes place in the fantasy continent of Westeros. Every detail of the event was executed precisely. The decor made a strong statement from the entry to the venue to the buffet feast laid out for guests to indulge in culinary delights to suit every palate, while remaining true to the period depicted.
Lorraine Fung created a spread that would please any King seated on the Iron Throne as the ultimate ruler of Westeros. Each food station was named after the ruling Houses of the Seven Kingdoms who are all battling for that symbol of power.
Game of Thrones can be seen Sundays on HBO, Flow Channel 518 at 8:00 p.m.
