The American Women's Group of Jamaica (AWG), presents Escape, a night of fun, food and frolic on Saturday, May 17, at 7 p.m., at the American International School of Kingston (AISK), 2 College Green Avenue, St Andrew. Music will be by the incomparable DJ Smoke and Renegade Disco and tickets are now on sale at a cost of $4,000 each. Dress elegantly.

Now in its 29th year, the AWG is a non-profit organisation founded by women from Jamaica's expatriate community but which has expanded today to include Americans, Jamaicans, diplomats and a multinational group of volunteers who focus on helping some of the less fortunate children of Jamaica. The AWG provides scholarships for students and assists various communities with special needs.

At the start of the 2014 school year, the AWG gave assistance with school fees and books to scholarship awardees, most of whom were referred by charitable institutions and schools. Many of the scholarship recipients have progressed to the tertiary level. The organisation's goal is to continue to support students and increase funding for its social-outreach programme.

Highlights of Escape include the opportunity to win various gate prizes and surprises.
