Barita Investments Limited has more than 31 years of excellence as a stock brokerage company in Jamaica. This was built in the areas of equities trading, fixed income securities, foreign currency trading, asset management, and investment research.

Barita is licensed by the Financial Services Commission and is also a member of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, a primary dealer and cambio dealer for the Bank of Jamaica.

Since its incorporation, Barita Investments has formed two subsidiaries: Barita Unit Trusts Management Company Limited and Barita Portfolio Management Limited. However, Barita Portfolio Management Limited has changed its name to BPM Financial, and is no longer part of the Barita Group of Companies.

The Barita Group, which now comprises Barita Investments Limited and Barita Unit Trusts Management Company Limited, continues to experience a growth in demand for its products and services. Along with their head office in New Kingston, and branches located in Mandeville and Montego Bay, the company remains committed to serving its customers islandwide with a dedicated team of more than 70 professionals.

Barita is a licensed cambio dealer authorised by the Bank of Jamaica to buy and sell foreign currency. They trade primarily in four major currencies, United States and Canadian dollars, Great Britain pounds and euros. The rates are competitive and negotiable and they offer bearer services within the Corporate Area.

Foreign currency is bought and sold mainly in the form of drafts, cheques and wire transfers. Dealings are limited to a maximum of US$1,000 or its equivalent in Jamaican dollars, Canadian dollars and Great Britain pounds, and rates are posted daily.
