Making the Million Dollar Round Table

Anna-Kay Nelson Lee is another Scotia Jamaica Insurance representative to have made this year's prestigious Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) and Court Of Table. She joined colleagues at the annual Million Dollar Round Table meeting in Toronto, Canada.

Lee describes her experience at the meeting as, "very rewarding and exciting". She explains that it was her first time travelling to that part of the world and she was able to see the true beauty in Canada. While at the MDRT meeting, she learnt valuable lessons that will enhance her career. "Overall, at this meeting, I realised that whatever I do for my clients, whether big or small, might change the trajectory of their lives and mine."

This honour is described as being one of the most renowned in the insurance industry and, as such, it is a goal that many insurance advisors strive to achieve. Nelson Lee achieved this goal by executing a great level of self-discipline. She was also successful because of her ability to make important choices, such as prioritising rather than procrastinating.

After her experience at the MDRT meeting 2014, Lee's perspective has been shifted. "I totally understand that the success I shared with many there was only 'rented' to me. I will have to remain disciplined in my practice to remain successful. I also realise that my happiness was born in my courage to see all that is beautiful and good and all that is painful and unfair, but choosing compassion, kindness and love anyway. Most of all, it has taught me that people need my advice. I have to know money, know my clients and diagnose before I prescribe a solution that can possibly fit their lifestyle."

Guided by her philosophy which is to live a '4G' life: Give, Gratitude, Giving forward, Giving back, Nelson Lee is determined to gain maximum success in her career. She hopes to have a better understanding of the insurance industry as well as to acquire an executive role at ScotiaBank. She hopes to be able to utilise her people skills and industry knowledge to enhance her company.
