A 46 year old taxi operator remained in hospital in serious condition after he was shot in the head by one of three gunmen along the Middlesex Main Road in St. Elizabeth yesterday afternoon.

The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reports that around 1 p.m., the taxi operator was driving his white Toyota corolla motor car along the main road, with three passengers aboard.

One of the passengers reportedly held a gun to the back of his head and fired a shot hitting the taxi driver in the head. The gunman then fled to a nearby canefield.

The driver was found lying face down beside his car and was assisted by passers-by, who rushed him to the Black River Hospital.

The Lacovia Police believe robbery was the motive for the attack.
