Ganja haul suspects
The police were up to late last night questioning two men in relation to a massive ganja bust at Old Harbour Bay, St. Catherine yesterday.
Members of Operation kingfish and the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard made the haul.
Spokesman for Operation Kingsfish, Inspector Steve Brown, said the find was made after members of the team carried out an operation in the area about 1 p.m. yesterday.
He said the police seized more than 1,600 pounds of Ganja worth approximately US$480,000 destined for the Bahamas.
Inspector Brown said the fact that the drugs were headed for the Bahamas points to a change in the drug transshipment points.
Inspector Brown said the police have identified the mastermind behind the trade and that the police should soon be able make an arrest.
